Recoil Rally is a joint event between Trail Life USA and the American Heritage Girls. Recoil Rally is the premiere youth shooting sports event in North Georgia. Attendees learn about and get to fire pistols, rifles, shotguns, and black powder guns. Recoil Rally also includes live fire demonstrations of all sorts of firearms, including U.S. and foreign military-style rifles. Attendees also learn about firearm safety, how guns really work, suppressed fire, and what the current firearms laws are in the state of Georgia. The event is all under the supervision of trained NRA instructors and range safety officers.
Yule Log is an annual food drive event combined with a field meet competition. Trail Life and American Heritage Girls troops from across the Southeast are invited to participate. The primary mission of the Yule Log event is to collect food for the local food banks in anticipation of the holiday season. One of Trail Life's Statement of Values is that God calls us to become responsible members of our community and the world through selfless acts that contribute to the welfare of others. Our goal is to collect as many cans of food as possible to help make needy families holiday season very special.
